This garden
is remarkable because of the narrowness of the plot (seventeen feet
across). We were able to squeeze in a small dwarf fescue lawn for the
dog, a deck for entertaining, and a wooden hot tub with its own lounging
area. (We chose a wooden tub because it could be brought through the
house in pieces and assembled on site).
Around
the perimeter of the garden is a “green wall” composed of blue green-stained
landscape timbers strung with stainless steel cable vine supports. Evergreen
podocarpus are trained on the cables, and then interplanted with climbing
roses and clematis.
