TIBURON
Tiburon - Aqueduct on the Bay (1997)

A collaboration with artist Michael Brown, this copper clad aqueduct has been seen everywhere. It was created for the San Francisco 1992 Garden Show at Fort Mason.

It was then donated to the Life Garden(an AIDS hospice service program in the San Francisco Castro District).

Eventually the “Life Garden” Hospice Project was dismantled, and our aqueduct once again had to hit the road. After extensive refurbishing by Michael Brown, it is spending a tranquil middle age centered in its own garden in Tiburon, with a lovely view back to its former home in San Francisco.

This garden was designed for a family with ties to the Middle East, and was a forerunner to our “Paradise Garden” at the San Francisco 1998 Garden Show.

Along with fragrance, edibles and water, this garden features an experimental “environmental” flowering meadow instead of lawn. Unfortunately, it is actually a lot of work to maintain.  We’re going back to the drawing board on the “flowering meadow” concept, hoping to find an easier option.
