An Artist's Garden in Palo Alto
This historic spanish revival home had just been lifted in order to create an underground-level studio space. Since all traces of the old garden had been destroyed, we were able to start from scratch. This artist’s work is very spare, and we chose to create a garden with a similar vibe. We wanted the garden to remain open to the street, and yet private. Passersby can stop and look and enjoy, but are not visually encouraged to step into the space.
