Pleasure Point Courtyard Entry

When our client bought this property, it was a rundown shack with an amazing view. Since many of her family were surfers, it seemed a match made in heaven. Architect Cove Britten was able to transform the building into a modernist jewel. While touring Living Green Designs in San Francisco with our client, we found the over-scale copper doors from Morocco. Using these doors as our inspiration, we created an enclosed courtyard with side wing walls punctuated by metal bars that provide light and ventilation. When these gates are closed, they provide privacy and security. When the gates open, the house is a transparent glass box, which allows our client to share her view of the water with the outside world.
